Here are the questions we get all the time, so this is a great place to start when working with us.

What is Your Unit Pricing (per sf, lf, etc)?

We don’t do standard unit pricing. Unit pricing would require that we undercharge some customers while overcharging others, and we don’t feel that’s right. There are a variety of cost factors that vary from job to job, including amount and type of material prep, powder selected (powder costs can vary by 20x or more!), and packaging requirements. Because of all this, we take the approach of getting to know your project, needs, and expectations, so we can right-size the scope and provide you with a fair price for YOUR project.

We have literally hundreds of colors in stock and source powders from many manufacturers. As a result, there isn’t a single ‘color card’ from which you have to choose. You can view our basic in-stock colors here and learn more about powder selection here. Please contact us to discuss your project and needs, so that we can make a solid recommendation for powder type and source. We encourage you to pick the powder you REALLY want – we do high quality work, so you’ll be looking at it for a long time, and powder costs are typically a small part of the overall project costs (usually 10-15%), even when powder needs to be ordered specifically for your job.

We take scheduling commitments seriously and deliver more than 95% of our projects on or before the agreed delivery date. Our average turnaround time is about two weeks but varies based on the type of work and size of job you’re bringing us, how long it takes to get your powder into our shop, and what our workload is when your project is ready to start. We can sometimes offer rush services for an additional fee.
We accept ACH or credit cards with no fee. We only accept checks from businesses with whom we have an established business relationship; we do not accept personal checks. We send estimates and invoices via email, and you can pay online. Payment is due on or before pick-up or four business days after the project is ready for pick-up, whichever comes first.

The minimum charge is $175 per job or color (if there are different items with different colors within the same job).

We are really good at powder coating, so that is all we do.
While it may be technically possible to powder coat these materials, often doing so properly involves specialized powders, processes, and equipment that we don’t have. We only powder coat metal.
This is a tricky question, because there are so many variables involved, starting with what scope of services/prep and type (and color) of powder are chosen. How the items are handled and cleaned and where they are stored (near salt water or a pool? In the sun?) also makes a big difference. Finally what “lasting” means varies from person to person. For some, this means how long until you see some fading and for others it means how long until the finish is peeling off. One thing that is consistent, however, is that powder coating is going to be a more durable coating than paint because it’s thicker and not as porous.
